Born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Ismarily Velázquez holds a B.F.A. degree in Digital Imaging and Design from the “Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico” (School of Fine Arts) and a minor degree in painting. Her interest for art goes back to her childhood and later as a teen decides to dedicate her life and talents to Jesus Christ after a supernatural experience.
In 2005, together with her husband and her two sons came to be part of the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, Missouri serving in the artist and latino community.
Her paintings and mixed media work come as a result of her lifelong passion to understand the invisible things of God, the mystery, power and the hidden things of Jesus. Her burden is to express beauty beholding the beautiful One and to inspire others to seek more than an image or an art piece.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Romans 1:20
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship,[ ποίημα (poiēma)- work of art], created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10
